Former baritone star of Broadway Musicals during the 50’s/60’s; Gene Smith; sings the National Anthem at The Great Western Forum (Staples) in Los Angeles.
L.A. Lakers owner; Dr. Buss; said after the performance before 15,000 fans & a national TV audience in the millions; “That’s the way the National Anthem should be sung.”

Samuel Margolis, Gene’s famous vocal coach for metropolitan opera stars and Arthur Fiedler, Conductor of the Boston Pops; whom Gene sang with; both would be amazed at the quality of voice at his now age of 85.
Samuel & Arthur would roll over in their graves if they heard Gene Sing the rap version of his theme song:
“NO TIME TO CRY”
“NATIONAL ANTHEM”
